Within the framework of the collaboration agreement between Catalonia and Morocco, the Public Administration School of Catalonia (EAPC) hosted, from 28 February to 3 March, the course on "Transport planning and management between rural and urban areas”, aimed at members of a delegation from the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma Regional Council, in Morocco (CRTTA).
This training is part of a collaboration agreement between the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD) and the Regional Council of Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (CRTTA), signed on 19 September 2016, which provides for the organisation of technical cooperation between Catalonia and Morocco in certain fields. The course, organised in collaboration with the Department of Territory and Sustainability of the Catalan Government, is the result of a request from the Regional Council: “to make progress on advanced regionalisation, it is important to look closely at transport planning and management between rural areas and urban centres.”
The training took place on four consecutive mornings, and in the afternoons the delegation visited the head offices of various key Catalan organisations in the field of transport, in order to find out first-hand about experiences relating to aim of the training. During its stay in Barcelona, the Moroccan delegation –member of ORU Fogar– met with our Secretary General, Carles Llorens, to reinforce the cooperative relations between the Moroccan regions and the United Regions Organisation. Among the participants, there were two of the region’s Vice-Presidents: Mohamed Taoufiq, in charge of rural development and agriculture, and Rafiaa Lo Mansouri, in charge of equipment and infrastructure.
