Interview with the Mayor of Turin, host of the 3rd Global Forum on Local Development

ORU-Fogar’s President, Paúl Carrasco, visited the Mayor of Turin, Piero Fassino, on the 14th October 2014. Following the public presentation of the 3er Forum in the Hall of Columns in the Town Hall of Turin, the prefect held a meeting with the Mayor in which he conveyed ORU-Fogar’s engagement in the organization of the event that will take place in the Italian city between the 15th and the 18th of October 2015. 

Both politicians have agreed on the need to give a regional approach, and not only local, to Turin’s Forum. Carrasco offered the Mayor to organize ORU-Fogar’s Annual Assembly in coordination with the 3rd Forum, so that the regional governments can take part in both events. Carrasco also invited Mayor Fassino to attend ORU-Fogar’s Assembly in October 2015. 

ORU-Fogar already participated in the 1st Forum in Seville (Spain) and the 2nd Forum in Iguazú (Brasil). In order to prepare the Forum that will be held in October 2015, which usually gathers over 400 people, ORU-Fogar’s Secretary-General, Carles Llorens, has participated in two preparatory meetings convened by Turin’s City Council and PNUD-Art.
