Practice submitted to ORU Fogar’s V Regional Best Practice Award by the Provincial GAD Santo Domingo de los tsáchilas (Ecuador), with input record number 8 and a total score of 615 points.
The project "Local Information System" (SIL), arises from an institutional need, which starts from the design of a system of free access to the data of the Subnational Government and to have a tool that allows to contribute to transparency, to territorial planning , to the interaction between the government and citizens and the fight against corruption.
Among the objectives of the Local Information System are:
General objective
• Build a system that generates reliability in the production and management of statistical and geographic information and access to its services, guaranteeing that the information has truthfulness, quality, consistency and security for the use of the citizenry.
Specific objectives
Carry out the administrative management of the project for the execution of its activities.
Update the geographic information of the Province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas.
Update and integrate the statistical information of the provincial information component regarding the Province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas.
Disseminate and promote the Local Information System project, by promoting and training citizens.
Adhesion of new complementary systems that facilitate the processes of updating and loading of information.
