In March 2024, the Government of the State of Pará, Brazil, implemented the project “For All Women: the Place and Power of Women in Politics,” a public policy that coordinates comprehensive actions with a rights-based approach aimed at promoting women’s political participation, ensuring access to essential services, and, in turn, activating and creating Women’s Public Policy Bodies at the local level. This initiative responds to the reality that, although around 50% of Pará’s population are women, there is still significant underrepresentation of women in positions of power and decision-making.

The project is structured around two pillars: on one hand, the training of women through Dialogue Circles—participatory spaces that encourage debate on gender, power, and public policies; and on the other, the direct provision of services such as healthcare, documentation, legal assistance, and entrepreneurship support, among others.

The project is based on the principles of equality, equity, and social justice, and is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to poverty eradication, health, gender equality, decent work, and institutional strengthening.

“For All Women” is thus established as a permanent and innovative public policy—necessary and transformative in its approach—reaffirming that there are no limits to the place of women: they belong in politics, in the workplace, in leadership, and in every sphere where rights are exercised and citizenship is built.
