ORU Fogar supports the campaign “16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence”.

ORU Fogar has announced its adhesion to the global campaign of UN Women, “16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence”, which will take place from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women), to December 10 (Human Rights Day). Under the slogan "UNiTE! Invest to prevent violence against women and girls", this campaign reinforces the commitment of ORU Fogar and its members with the promotion of human rights of women and girls and the promotion of safe and equitable environments at all levels. 

From the Gender Equality Working Group, coordinated by the Women's Secretariat of the Government of Córdoba -Claudia Martinez-, ORU Fogar has promoted initiatives to raise awareness on gender-based violence, including a webinar in previous years that highlighted good practices in the fight against this issue. This webinar provided a space for learning and discussion about effective tools and strategies aimed at eliminating gender-based violence in our communities. 

The 2024 campaign, which invites people to dress and paint physical and virtual spaces orange, aims to foster public dialogues and raise awareness about the rights of women and girls. ORU Fogar invites its members to join in this important cause and actively promote gender equality in their respective regions, thus consolidating the organization's commitment to an inclusive and sustainable global agenda.

We ratify the commitment of each of our regional governments for gender equality. ORU Fogar has assumed the unwavering commitment to work towards a society with gender equality, a fundamental objective of the SDGs, and all of us are the ones who will make it operational. The time to act is NOW."
