A Region from Romania, One from Moldova, One from Ecuador and One from Senegal Join ORU Fogar

ORU Fogar continues to expand its global network with the admission of four new members, further strengthening the organization's international reach and the diversity of its membership. The new members are Iași County (Romania), Soroca District (Moldova), the Decentralized Autonomous Provincial Government of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas (Ecuador), and the Network of Territorial Authorities of the Department of Podor (Senegal).

These new admissions enrich the organization's geopolitical footprint and reinforce its presence across Europe, Africa, and Latin America. In Europe, the accession of Iași County complements the existing membership of Argeș County in Romania, further consolidating ORU Fogar's ties with the country. Meanwhile, the admission of Soroca District marks a historic milestone, making it the first region from Moldova to become a member of ORU Fogar.

These European additions are complemented by the accession of members from Senegal and Ecuador, two countries that already enjoy strong and active representation within the organization through numerous Senegalese departments and Ecuadorian provincial governments. Their participation further demonstrates ORU Fogar's well-established presence and growing influence in both national contexts.

With a population of more than 760,000 inhabitants, Iași County is the leading economic, business, academic, and cultural hub of eastern Romania. Home to some of the country's most prestigious universities and dynamic industrial parks, Iași brings significant institutional and strategic value to ORU Fogar's network in Eastern Europe.

Located in northeastern Moldova, Soroca District has a population of nearly 58,600 inhabitants. Renowned for its rich historical and cultural heritage, Soroca is also a strategic hub for cross-border cooperation and a founding member of initiatives such as the Dniester Euroregion. Its membership will contribute valuable expertise on regional governance in Moldova.

Strategically located between Ecuador's Andean Highlands and Coastal regions, the Province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas is home to nearly 493,000 inhabitants. Its economy is driven by a dynamic agricultural, commercial, and service sector, while it is also home to the Tsáchila Indigenous Nation, giving the province a distinctive cultural, social, and decentralized governance profile within Ecuador's system of provincial governments.

Located in the country's northwestern corner, within the Saint-Louis Region, the Department of Podor has a population of approximately 487,200 inhabitants. Through its Network of Territorial Authorities, Podor plays a fundamental socioeconomic role in the management of the Senegal River, agricultural development, and cross-border decentralized cooperation, further reinforcing the strong and strategic presence of Senegalese regional administrations within ORU Fogar.
