The founding members of ORU Fogar will take part in the Annual General Assembly to be held on the 27th and 28th of November to celebrate the organisation’s 10th anniversary.
The regions ask to take part in the Green Climate Fund
The International Conference on Climate Change organized by Reunion’s regional Government and nrg4SD in the island of Reunion, France, concluded on Friday the 6th of October with the regions’ request to participate in the Green Climate Fund that the international community has launched to fight against Climate Change.
Referendum in Catalonia
Last Sunday 1st of October the referendum on Catalonia’s self-determination, called by the autonomous government, was held. Regarded as unlawful by the central government, the weeks before the event were a time of great tension. Trying to stop it by all means, judicial proceedings and police actions were launched, requisitioning ballots in the printing houses and hindering the campaign of the yes’ side.

The leadership of the regions in the territorialisation of the SDG
Should we leave all action in favour of the SDGs to the nation states? Is the 2030 Agenda a working guide or does it mean more than a compendium of 169 targets? Are the regionsprepared to implement the agenda? The 2030 Agenda, unlike the Millennium Goals, calls us to have a universal vision that involves multiple actors and must be implemented at all levels. Therefore, we must understand that the actions to be undertaken are not exclusive to the nation states, nor should we expect the leadership to come solely from the National Governments. It is time for us all to assume our part of responsibility and to put our resources into action to align local and regional policies with the Sustainable Development Goals.
