The 5th World Forum on Local Economic Development will take place in May in Córdoba (Argentina)
After the postponement brought about by the Argentinean crisis in 2019, the 5th World Forum on Local Economic Development will be held on the 6th, 7th and 8th of May in Córdoba. On this occasion, this forum, which began in 2010 in Seville, (Spain) and which is being organized by UNDP, ILO, UCLG, FAMSI and ORU Fogar, will be hosted by the municipality of Cordoba, the Agency for the Economic Development of the City of Cordoba (ADEC) and by the Province of Cordoba.
5th Regional Good Practices Award
At the start of 2020, the 5th Regional Good Practice Award was announced. As every year, it is jointly convened by ORU Fogar and the United Nations Development Programme - Art (UNDP Art) and it is aimed at highlighting 5 good governance practices from intermediate governments around the world: regions, provinces, federated governments.
Biosphere certificate for regions
On 31 January last year, in accordance with the agreements of the last ORU Fogar Bureau, President Abdessamad Sekkal signed a collaboration agreement with Patricio Azcarate, Director of the Institute of Responsible Tourism (RTI). This agreement will allow the two organizations to cooperate in different programs and participate in joint projects, as well as providing mutual advice.

Dakar, 10 years after?
The 1st Summit of the World's Regions on Food Security was held in Dakar in January 2010. Representatives of regional governments and associations of regional governments from the five continents noted that the commitments made at the World Food Summit in 2002 had had little effect, that the global economic crisis of 2008-2009 had worsened the situation and that the food crisis was threatening international stability.
