Zicosur holds seminar on fire prevention
Last summer in the Southern Cone of South America ended with a record number of forest fires. In the Chilean regions of Biobío, Ñuble and La Araucanía, 45,000 hectares of land were burned and 24 people died. The Chilean government declared a "state of catastrophe".

Extremadura emphasize on the importance of territorial balance and rural development
Mérida, Extremadura, Spain, hosted an international experts meeting entitled "Restoring territorial balance by strengthening urban-rural linkages". Organised by UN Habitat and the Regional Government of Extremadura, the event aimed to explore concrete ways and solutions to rebalance the territory.

Cooperation agreement between the Catalan government and the Buenos Aires provincial government
The Catalan government and the provincial government of Buenos Aires, in a process promoted by ORU Fogar, of which both are members, have signed a collaboration agreement in areas of mutual interest.

Build roads, provide access to electricity, offer economic opportunities: if there is no water, nothing is possible. Water is essential to life, to the prosperity of states and territories, to the health of populations and the planet. But when it comes to access to safe drinking water, the figures are alarming. Today, more than 2 billion people in the world do not have access to safe drinking water.
