The projects against gender violence won the VIII Regional Best Practices Awards
On November 20th, during the Annual Assembly of the United Regions Organization, President Rachid El Abdi announced the five projects recognized by the VIII Regional Best Practices Awards. This initiative, jointly convened for the eighth time by ORU Fogar and UNDP, highlighted technological projects in 2021, particularly those enhancing connectivity, and agricultural and environmental projects in 2022, with a focus on SDG 12 "Responsible Consumption and Production." In 2023, the first three awarded projects are dedicated to gender equality, specifically addressing the challenge of violence against women.

Regions against gender-based violence
On 23 November, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Catalan Regional Ministry of Feminism and Equality and ORU Fogar organised a webinar entitled "Regions against Gender Violence" in which eight outstanding good practices were presented.

The foundations were set for the 6th World Forum on Local Economic Development in Seville
From 17 to 18 October, the Andalusian Fund of Municipalities for International Solidarity, FAMSI, organised the event "Alliances for just, inclusive and sustainable transition". The two days were aimed at preparing for the 6th Local Economic Development (LED) Forum, during which the five organisations that initiated this adventure in 2010, two United Nations agencies (ILO and UNDP), the local government network UCLG and the regional government network ORU Fogar, together with FAMSI, reiterated their commitment to the Forum.
