ORU is preparing for the III World Forum on Local Economic Development
The Ecuadorian city of Quito hosted, last 18th and 19th of May, the Latin American and Caribbean Forum on Territorial Economic Development. ORU participated in the meeting represented by its President, Paúl Carrasco, who gave a speech on the “Impact of the social model of production in the Province of Azuay”.
Collaboration agreement between ORU and TEC Monterrey
The United Regions Organisation and the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey in Nueva León, Mexico, have concluded a mutual collaboration agreement in terms of academic training and the promotion of international cooperation. The agreement, established within the framework of the fellowship program on “International Development Cooperation” offered at the Guadalajara campus at the TEC Monterrey University, will allow for the sharing of knowledge and staff between both organisations, thus enriching their professional experiences and strengthening their relations.
The Basque Government receives the UN Public Service Award
The United Nations has awarded the first Prize of the Public Service Awards in two categories to the Basque Government, member of ORU’s Executive Bureau. The Basque Institute of Women-EMAKUNDE has been recognized in the “Promotion of the gender perspective” category, for its excellence in the implementation of the Basque Law on gender equality. For their part, the Basque Open Government Program has received the award in the “Fostering Participation in Policy-making Decisions through Innovative Mechanisms” category.
