A good practice is an activity or process undertaken by a local/regional authority that has produced noteworthy results in public management and that can be replicated in other organisations to improve their effectiveness, efficiency and innovation for the benefit of the public good.
To promote and encourage good practices currently being implemented by regional governments with the aim of improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
- To identify and highlight good practices of regional governments worldwide.
- To stimulate the Public Administration’s dynamism and efficiency.
- To disseminate, support and promote the replication of good practices in public management in the regional government institutions.
- To position the concept of good practices in public management as an effective tool for regional governments.
The I Regional Good Practices Award has a global scope and it is addressed to intermediate governments: regions, provinces, federal states and networks of regional governments.
•“Cogeneration of public value: Towards a more participative, open and transparent Euskadi”, submitted by the Basque Government (Spain) on the 14th March 2016, with registry number 5 and a total score of 503 points.
•“Training Network of Rural Women, Colonia”, submitted by the Government of Colonia (Uruguay) on the 8th March 2016, with registry number 3 and a total score of 490 points.
•“Women advancing towards well-being”, submitted by the Government of the State of Jalisco (Mexico) on the 15th March 2016, with registry number 35 and a total score of 489 points.
•“Rio without extreme poverty plan”, submitted by the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) on the 15th March 2016, with registry number 18 and a total score of 485 points.
•“Routine Monitoring of Development, an inclusive practice of the Basque School”, submitted by the Basque Government (Spain) on the 14th March 2016, with registry number 6 and a total score of 483 points.
