The RegionsAdapt initiative

RegionsAdapt was an initiative of the State of Rio de Janeiro and Catalonia, nowadays under the umbrella of nrg4SD (now Regions4), within the framework of the COP21 of 2015 set in Paris.  Through RegionsAdapt, the regional governments, with the efforts of adaptation, committed to adopt plans to fight climate change through tangible actions while listing them in an annual report. Since then, RegionsAdapt administered by Regions4 has been a cooperation framework so that the regions could exchange experiences and best practices to adapt to climate change.  The goal is to unite efforts in order to achieve resiliency for the territories and prevent their respective economies, environments and citizens from being damaged. At the ORU Fogar Assembly of Rio de Janeiro in 2016, the majority of organization’s regions subscribed to RegionsAdapt.
