The Forum on Tourism and Regional Economic Development is a space for strategic reflection that moves beyond a sectoral view of tourism, positioning it at the heart of territorial planning. Here, the discussion does not focus on tourism as an isolated activity, but on the role of regions as the key scale for transforming it into a driver of economic development, social cohesion and sustainability. From the regional level, the connection between national and local spheres is articulated, territorial identity and competitive branding are shaped, investment in infrastructure is promoted, and public–private management models adapted to each context are fostered. The Forum therefore seeks to examine how, through regional governance, tourism potential can be converted into tangible development outcomes.
